Loan Participations are one method for credit unions to build their MBL portfolios when it is not possible to invest capital in direct loan origination. However, as with all purchases, it is important for your credit union to conduct its own due diligence before committing to an interest in a loan participation. In this session, the basics of loan participations will be discussed and the importance of understanding the strengths and weaknesses of the credit will be emphasized. Q&A will follow presentation.
